Thanks for the welcome skully! As a Simpsons tragic, your avi makes me chuckle, hehe!!
And thanks to all for your friendliness.
One thing - What is the one-word reply, 'sage'? If it's the bleeding obvious I apologize.
It's not in the glossary, so is it just a forum word, or an in-word?? Or does it just mean 'wise answer' ??
Yeah, "sage" just means "wise". Generally a quick post to agree with a particularly wise and insightful comment.
Thanks! I was secretly hoping it was something mysterious such as Sad Aussies' Gruesome End or South Africa Grins Euphorically... but 'wise' is cool.

Just jokes!![]()
Thanks for pointing me in this direction; although maybe I'd better brace for the onslaught, since SA are doing us in a doddle!! What a great win it'll be for them - and it'll be chopping block time for us.
Ha! I thought it was you ... the Steve Waugh luuurve was a give-away![]()
I suppose at some stage we're going to have to leave the warm embrace of the welcome threads and head out into the real world ...
you first
I already did! Dipped my toes into the water and wrote in two threads - and lived to tell the tale!!
I knew you'd recognise the SW reference. You know I think he's God Almighty, or seated at His right hand. For those who think wrongly -differently - that's okay though.
Now simkat, your turn. Be brave!

The in-word is banindia

Re: hi there!
Is this in-word an in-direct result of our in-auspicious showing against In-dia? Or is it due to our in-cessant need to in-gratiate ourselves, in order to in-dulge our in-satiable desire for in-creased wealth??
Or do you just not like India?

The first reference I'm offended by; the second I'm perplexed by; and hello to you too horace and thanks for the welcome.

Re: hi there!
You remind him of an old lover and his dog.
And by "lover" I mean "stalking victim". And by "dog" I mean "dog".
Be careful - he wants to pet you.

Don't worry fw (unfortunate abbreviation there by the way) there are several of us here with thousands more posts than you who are regularly perplexed by the gibberish of the forum's silly old roman.
But he's not doing too badly for a bloke who likes a cigar while having his kerosene bath.

Re: hi there!
nothing lovable about me ..'cept for the poetry and my acuity about national selectors, the koalas (the waughs - check the glossary) and bunk lee ...
you seemed inordinantly fond of old and young Mr Grace hence the joke...and you will find plenty of nice, albeit deluded folk here who will support you on that..
apologies if you are really not 'Gabba Dan'...in his various guises here he has got up the sleeves of several forummers...even the long suffering tolerant trio of Skully, Zat and Invader Zim
...and undoubtedly you would be more than a match for me

Re: hi there!
Old Mr. Grace is legend.
Young Mr. Grace - meh, but a lovely bat.
The positives: we share a love of cricket and poetry; and a dislike for the present pile-of-poo selectors. And you can throw in Nielson as well.
I am not Gabba Dan, but is he a relie of Gabba Dine? Sorry - gets me into trouble all the time.
I doubt anyone would be a match for you horace, but I am a bright spark.
And please be kind about my nic. How was I to know I'd entered a whole new world of abbreviations??

Footwork and I met on a non-sport forum. For the last year we've been talking cricket together in the forum's GD area - when I came across this forum, I thought footwork would appreciate the humour so I passed on the link. I can assure you we are both brand spankin' newbies with not a guise between us.
I'd be more than happy to PM admin or a mod the forum link if they would like to verify.
