Wales really don't look much of a team. Ireland were blown away yesterday by a French side that decided to perform, but even so they look under real pressure every time they come out. Ireland might well beat England next week because they're better than England, but I can't see Wales beating France, unless France have one of their infamous non-performances.

France have several more home games to come (England and Italy), so they've already got an advantage. I can see England folding in Paris.


Plus, if the France of yesterday turn up to Cardiff next week, then not even two minutes of extra time, will save us from the Parisian war-machine.

He's getting to be a right dickhead in my opinion ... that's twice now he's done a football gesture to the ref ... viz., making a card sign to him following an oppos misdemeanour.

Eh? Wilkinson was diabolical yesterday. Too deep, appalling tactical kicking (and far too much of it), refusal to bring his centres into the game, preferring to take it into contact again and again, no sense of strategy - and his place kicking was poor. The only time Wilkinson has ever looked a true giant of the game as when he had the likes of Dawson and Greenwood inside and outside of him, telling him what to do. He simply can't run a game and if you don't have the strong characters to do it, he ends up taking wrong decision after wrong decision. Far too many people think that Wilkinson won the World Cup in 2003, when it was the forwards and scrum-half who got him in a position where he could barely miss.

I am yes. But the hagiography of him every time he bangs over a drop goal is a bit much. He's a fine, fine players - but it shouldn't blind everyone to his shortcomings. Without a creative scrumhalf, and a centre pairing who are more worried about their places than dominating the game, Wilkinson goes into his shell - and that's why England are so limited.

Late start, Wales missing several key players - France with a close to full strength squad that hammered Ireland. Mike Phillips is going to be such a vital replacement.

Bloody stupid to have a Friday night game, takes all the fun out of it. As for the result, it's France, you've never got a clue which team is going to turn up. My prediction is somewhere in the range between a Wales win and a French one.
