Apart from anything else, two heads are better than one. Twenty-two sledges at any time would put even Tendy and Co off.

And Punter needs to be among his mates. Hilfy alone is just like a cry for help.

Wow. I missed the end of this test and can't believe Pakistan almost threw it away... again.

While I was hoping for an Aussie miracle, it's good to see the Paksters get a victory - it will make them more confident the next time the two sides meet.

Interestingly not one player managed to score a century in either test... and the game was all the better for it.

What a shame there isn't a third test; two-test series are an abomination.

Instead of being the reverse of Headingley '81 Headingley '10 turned out to be a repetition of Trent Bridge '05 where England also crept home by 3 and Oz, despite making a much better fist of it as the match went on, could also not overcome the handicap of a poor 1st innings batting performance.

So now Punter has to wrestle with the ghosts of Edgbaston and Leeds. Interesting conundrum for him. He said he wasn't expecting the conditions to be as helpful as they were and he thought the sun would come out.

The irony is that if we had ended up losing the SCG test we may well have won both series because Ponting's "we'll bat" view of the world might have been shaken.

Which is what I said at the time, Pakistan finding a way to lose that test made Punter feel vindicated in his decision. The ghosts of Edgbaston might have been torturing him but there comes a time when you assess the prevailing conditions, not wonder what might happen in four or five days time or making the assumption that the sun will come out at a certain time etc.

BTW, Clarke's missed catch was costly too.

Are you referring to the one on the last morning where he dived full length and backwards to cover the 3rd slip that Drunky didn't have? I thought he did well to get a hand on it. You're a hard marker, Red, or are you just being a Vomit?
