I never really took much notice of it until I caught the Vietnam show one night when I was feeling too lazy to even switch channels let alone do something productive. I cried tears of laughter that night and have been hooked ever since.
I think Botswana is their best "special" but yes, it is a very funny show.

Re: New Top Gear
And in amongst the highs and lows of English sport, TG series 15 premiered on the BBC over the weekend.
Channel Nein will show it in Australia eventually. Probably AFTER the Ashes.
My friend Bob* has found numerous sites offering it for torrent download.
And here's the Beeb promotion for it...

Hehehe, JGK pretending he wouldn't scream like a little girl when the Hamster walked past.

Re: New Top Gear
I'd scream like a girl if Hamster drove past in a Veyron. If I saw a TG convoy on the motorway, I'd try to cut in between the camera truck and the boys.

Re: New Top Gear
Actually saw the Veyron v Plane race on BBC Knowledge yesty. Man, what a car, and it was all Clarkson could do not to blow in his daks.
PMSL. £5 Million each to build (at the time of the epi) and they retailed for £850,000.

Re: New Top Gear
The Ep that was on BBC on the weekend featured the boys attempting to reinvent RV's. The vehicles were those in the promo vid a few posts back. And again, it was very well done.
But I'd never let them cook for me.

Aye - it was funny. They seem to have settled into a decent groove this series; but the studio gooning - which is clearly scripted, though they try to make it look ad libbed - is tiresome.
Minor gripe, however. Still an hour's good telly.

Watched last night's Aust episode. I thought The Stig reveal would be a joke reveal but it was Michael Schumacher

It's all scripted.
The RV stuff was just a rehash of the previous (scripted) caravan trip, complete with predictable pratfalls and "accidents". And rubbish acting.
I always think it's a shame when they try so hard to make a funny, as the trio have enough chemistry and wit to be perfectly entertaining without all the obvious set-ups.
Too forced.

Re: New Top Gear
Last nights was up there with some of their best.
Cruise and Diaz came across as very likeable and with the piece on Senna it showed that TG can be pretty informative and when Clarkson has a subject that he's passionate about ( like Brunel) he's one of the most watchable and presenters around
