Bangladesh 27/2 at tea on Day 2.

Many in the Sky commentary box are surprised that Finn didn't get the new ball.

Bangles 27/2 - no's 1 and 3 can't play the short ball for toffee.

Seems a fair call to me - the ball will only swing for a dozen overs max, so I don't see the point in holding Bresnan back. Mind you I'll be surprised if Finn doesn't come on at his end after tea.

Lovely batting by Tamim.

Think it's Finn time now though.

A mix of hot and cold in Finn's opening over.

Tamim's 50 brings hope for Bangladesh to initiate a fightback.

Fantastical innings from Mahmudullah.

As I said in the opening page of this thread, the players work off the momentum that Tamim constructs through his risky stroke play and courageous attitude. Unlike 1 and 3.

Banger boys going at a trace of knots, 140/3.

Swann gets his man.

Mahmudullah for 51.

He doesn't get much lift for such a tall lad.

I'm glad we don't play tests too often against this lot. It really is just a case of improving averages.

FFS, it's his first Test match, on a slow low wicket. Give the lad a chance!

Aye ... nothing more than that.
And it's no wonder there's bemusement when Lord's can only sell 60 tickets for the test match this year, the rest of the 25,000 (as with 4 years ago) going as freebies (or for a quid each) to unsuspecting school kids!

Re: Finn ... aye FFS, give the lad a chance before raking him with "observations" !
His first test on a quicks graveyard track AND in the knowledge that Chef probably wishes he'd picked Treadcrap indtead, after seeing Swann turn three large in his first over!

I'm accepting his lack of direction and hostility on that basis, but I feel he should get the odd one to climb. I think he's a better prospect than Bresnan and as a Seaxy boy I would like him to do well.
