Anti-Flat-Earth Society

Post by skully on Thu 23 Sep 2010, 00:43

Ugh and FMD. Just back from my 3-monthly Estuary management Committee meeting. 3 hours of skully hell. A room full of smelly Greenies, crazy-as-all-fark fishermen, landcare specialists, and sundry other flotsam and jetsom Environmentalists. I just go to ensure that my company is not slagged off.

Fark, 3 hours of listening to teary eyed recounting of how they lovingly spent $85,000 on saving 3 square metres of sea grass from the effect of Chlorophyl-A, $100,000 on a study of the effects of climate change on the lower Wombat Creek spoon-nosed Collywobble, $50,000 on modelling of the effects of rising sea water levels on the endangered spotty snot-nosed sea urchin, $180,000 on studies on the loss of wetlands due to global warming, and blah, blah, farking blah.

God, I wanted to drive a pen into my inner ear to end the misery. Maybe Hass can set up a poll? Cool

I'm sure there were qunts in the room Tweating updates to stinky hairy-armpitted friends.

Nuthin against looking after the world we live in, Petey but talk about taking a modicum of debatable scientific data and turning it into a runaway juggernaut. FFS, can we just have some sanity and perspective?

I liken this to Zog's campaign to get the Catholic church to spread the wealth. Expensive environmental protection programs to comb the part on pygmy emus and maintaining stinky swamps to protect the endangered left-handed big-arsed bog slug are just farkin ludicrous. Meanwhile bums are freezing to death in Hyde Park. The farkin world's gone mad.

FMD, I'll be dead and buried before the temperature rises by 0.5 degrees and the seas rise by 6 inches.

Fark, the way these clowns carry on it's Apocalypse now. Raise money now to save the world when the Sun starts to expand in 10 billion years, or we'll all be rooned.

At last night's droning snorefest they put up possible best case and worst case sea-level rise charts by 2050. Best case was little or no rise - worst case was around 700 mm. When I politely asked about the basis of the worst case the answer was "reliable scientific data". I persisted "from where?" The answer "reliable and credible sources".

I rolled my eyes and shut up, cos I wanted to get the fark out of there.

Now we know where you stick your tampons. (Like we needed to.) It really surprises me that you aren't on twitter, your posts would fit right in there. In quality and quantity.
