NFL Thread

In case anyone else is interested.

Colts lose despite Manning throwing for 433 yards and 3 TDs.

Saints beat Vikings again. I didn't follow the offseason but I was sure Favre retired at the end of last season. Obviously not.

Is Brett Favre still going?

I'm a Vikings fan.

Dunno about Favre, but Tom Brady is made of tough stuff. He was in a car accident late last week, but emerged to sign up as the highest paid player in the NFLeeeeg.

"A day that started badly for Tom Brady turned out to be a pretty good one after all.

After a morning crash left Brady's car damaged but the New England Patriots quarterback unhurt, he came to terms on a contract that will make him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Two people with knowledge of the contract said Thursday night that Brady has agreed to a four–year extension beginning in 2011.

It has a value of $18 million per year with a total of $48.5 million guaranteed, one of those persons said. Both persons spoke on condition of anonymity because the paperwork had not yet been filed with the NFL.

Brady is making $6.5 million this season in the final year of a six–year deal."

Nice work if you can get it.

Sucked in Manning! Time will tell, but the Colts may have invested just too much in him, and not enough elsewhere on the field.

And then, to top things off, the Patriots spanked the Bengals, winning by 14 in the end, but with the foot well and truly off the gas after leading 31-3 about 20 seconds after half-time.

The game's not all about touchdowns, but there were 54 of them on Sunday afternoon. There's a nice video montage from the NFL site of all of them here.
