England Lions squad

Post by Henry on Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:21 pm

Reckon they'll go with-

Batsmen-

Gale (c)
Bopara
Carberry
Lyth
Taylor
Hales
Ali

Keepers-

Kieswetter
Buttler

Fast bowlers-

Tremlett
Meaker
Footitt
Bresnan
Woakes

Spinners-

Panesar
Parry/Kerrigan/Beer/Rafiq/Tredwell FFS

Young Buttler from Somerset is a gun keeper batsman. He's really set the place alight with his stroke play since he made his debut a couple of months ago.

Only one specialist spinner might be needed as Moeen's bowling is coming along quite nicely (a Michelle today against Middlesex)

Scott Borthwick is another to keep an eye on. Useful leggie whose batting has come on a bit too...

Difficult to predict Lions squads

Yeah. Of course they will pick Darren Stevens and Luke Wright but I was doing my best to avoid reality.

Moeen may even be a chance to go with the ashes squad proper as the second spinner. He's probably no worse an offie than Tredwell FFS, and his batting is miles ahead.

Long odds against I'm afraid - but give it a year or two.......

Spriegel
Harinath
Lancefield
Roy
Walters
Wilson
S Davies
G Batty (c)
Meaker
Cheetham
Linley

So much promise there.... That'll probably be the Ashes winning team in 2014.

It was okay thanks, Pete.

Although it'll be my last trip to YankydoodleDandy land for sometime. New pastures must be investigated.

Nah, it was very poor, Taips. Too commercial.
