I think the ICC should suspend Pakistan until further notice - a number of players clearly can't continue until these allegations have been investigated and dealt with, without the bowlers in particular they wouldn't have a side competitive enough to beat Bangladesh, Zimbabwe or maybe even Ireland, and of course there's the ongoing security situation that means they can't play at home for the foreseeable future. We might have seen them play their last Test for some years.

The trouble with Pakistan is that because of the weakness of their board in punishing players who do something wrong, they now think they can get away with anything.

Someone needs to be banned for life. And it has to be LIFE to get the message across. Not 3 months.

If it is found that there was match fixing in this match, they should strip it of Test and FC status. They should do that for all matches where match fixing is proven.

Three deliberate no-balls shouldn't wipe one of the greatest partnerships seen in Test cricket from the record books. Even when a match has actually been thrown, the opposing side is at no fault and their achievements have to stand.

Three deliberate no balls is a kind of match-fixing in itself given that the bowlers have forfeited the opportunity on those occasions for most modes of dismissal of the batsmen.

[shrugs]Surely the events of today casts a shadow over the whole Test. I wonder what the odds of an English victory by an innings where when they where 7 for 100 in the first dig? I'm sure members of the Pakistan team knew...

I think the Pakistani players were trying to win the match, they just thought they could make a bit of extra cash on the side whilst doing it. They're all pretty naive, and let's be honest, not terribly well educated.

Erm, I humbly submit - fark off Trev. They couldn't give a rat's @rse about the result once they knew there were major bucks to be made for bowling a no-ball on ball 1 of over 3.

Match payments pale into insignificance when it comes to the ill-gotten gains of match-fixing.

I thought the same. We know about the no balls scandal because it's documented but surely this casts doubt on the whole test, possibly the whole series. After all there have been lots of violent fluctuations and catastrophic collapses. Who knows if they were all on their merits or if the hand of bookie came into play.
