Pakistan - best bowling attack in the business?
I would say so.
If they can find a few non FTB batsman, anything's possible.

No.
Not bad ... but certainly not the best.
I suspect they'll opt to play ALL their "home" games in England where they can swing it yards.... not so anywhere else.

Most certainly LLL and i would have said it even BEFORE the Leeds test
Having said that Merlin makes a solid point too because M Asif COMPARE to Steyn is a really average bowler on a super flat wicket

Re: Pakistan - best bowling attack in the business?
I think it makes a pleasant change for Pakistani bowlers to get some favourable conditions rather than the FTB batsman. After toiling away on the dead strips of Pakistan every time they play a home fixture, why shouldn't they enjoy some of the conditions our cack bowlers (cough Jimmy cough) sustain themselves on year after year?
I reckon, after Steyn, Asif is the best seamer around. Aamer could be Waqar or Brett Lee. Gul is a solid act and would get into most sides. And (sadly), sh!t though he is a lot of the time, Kaneria's probably the best spinner in the world (Swann's in the mix). Can't see too many attacks better out there. SA rely on Steyn and don't have a spinner and the rest are generally wank.

Re: Pakistan - best bowling attack in the business?
Why allow them constant use of English conditions (which seemingly will be the case in the future) which give their bowlers the edge, just because the ECB were on a guilt trip at the embarrassment back in 2006 following the forfeited Oval test for ball tampering?
IMO, Oz were at a gross disadvantage playing Pak in England, knowing just how crap Oz are against swing bowling ....
Bollocks I say - Let Pak play all their "home" fixtures on matting in neutral Dubai (excellent duty free swag) ... or else Sharjah (great camel market) - where the heat and lack of swing and under-paid partisan crowds will reduce these 'world beaters' to mere sweat rags without a purpose.

Bollox Merlin, if anything Aus should have been at an advantage, Pak hardly play any test cricket these days and Aus play far more cricket than Pak IN England. Conditions are the same for both teams, and what more rubbish you talk about flat decks, to be honest stick any bowler past or present on a flat crap wicket they won't take wickets.
This attack is very promising and one of the best, but as usual batting is sh!te.

Re: Pakistan - best bowling attack in the business?
Blimey talk about swallows and summers. They've had a bit of purple patch and but Pakistan aren't a side big on confidence, tactical nous or fielding prowess so there's going to be times their bowling attack goes round the park.
I'd think Australia if they get the right men on the park in form have the best potential all-round bowling attack- pace and aggression from Siddle, Bollinger and/or Johnson, swing from Hilfenhaus and solid spin from Hauritz or possibly Smith. Next comes South Africa with the increasingly potent Steyn/Morkel combo and then come Pakistan. After that probably England and Sri Lanka joint with the number one test side India bringing up the rear of the major test nations.

Well that certainly woke Makkie up ... in there, kicking and spluttering in indignation!
Like I really GAF Mak !
As the Emu points out, swallows and summers.... one purple patch and it seems the Pak bowlers are now one of the best in the world ...BUT ... get a grip ... try only in English conditions and only when the ball's swinging around like a gorilla's goolies in a force 8 gale - something the Aussie batsmen have never coped with.
Put them on a Kanpur deck and they'll be as sh!t as the rest of the toilers!
So .... let's get just a touch real okay ....

They're better than the SENOs and the Poms, so yes probably the best in the world.

I wasn't really on about the headingley match anyway. I only saw bits of it. I was really talking aboutpure talent. In my opinion, in terms of all round ability it's probably the best attack out there.
