FFS, what an ordinary hour and one that makes a mockery of the odds offered before the start of play.

Excellent bowling by Aamer, but three very soft dismissals. It's fair to say his tight bowling lead to two rash shots by Drunk and Ollie and a misjudgment by Paris.

Fark, Ollie is a 100 or out merchant, and more often than not, it's out.

We need 200 out of the tail like we got at Lords if we are to be any chance.

I venture to say his big backlift will be fodder for Bhajji in India and that could see him jettisoned prior to the Ashes.

Having said that, other than Fleas, no Aussie has really looked that secure in this series. Pup is looking solidish but has edged a lot.

Clarke and Paine - rescue act extraordinaire.

And chanceless, too.

Much better 2nd hour. Pup looks very safe and Paine is improving. Where there's life, there's hope. 45 to the good with 5 wickets in hand. If the lead gets over 100 the Paksters will start to get nervous.

Is it just me, or does Paine look very much like Pup in his batting style?
