SoO Game 2

Post by skully on Mon 07 Jun 2010, 01:17

The Chief dosed up on medication and headed out to the Olympic Park Sports Centre to watch the Spiv Swifts play the Bay of Plenty Chunky Monkeys in the National Netball stuff with the idiot offspring. She was sitting 6 seats from Brett Kimmorley and his family. She had SMSed me for a half time score in the Souths v Cows game, so I texted back to "tell Kimmorley he's been dropped for Pierce in SoO Game 2". She wimped out.

Halves changed and the forwards beefed up, but the Roaches will be beat by 30 by the fuelled up Banjos in Qld.

And here's the story.

"New South Wales selectors were unable to finalise their line-up for State of Origin II, but included Mitchell Pearce at the expense of Brett Kimmorley in an extended 21-man squad.

With Jarryd Hayne and Luke Lewis facing a trip to the judiciary on Tuesday night, and Michael Weyman (groin), Beau Scott (adductor) and Josh Dugan (knee) battling injury, Blues selectors named an extended squad for the first time in the 30-year history of Origin.

New faces in the squad for this series included Canberra fullback Dugan, Cronulla pair Paul Gallen and Trent Barrett, St George Illawarra backrower Beau Scott, Parramatta forward Nathan Hindmarsh, North Queensland Cowboys enforcer Luke O'Donnell and Manly co-captain Jason King.

Canterbury-Bankstown halfback Kimmorley and Manly prop Josh Perry appeared to be dropped on form, while Sea Eagles pair Jamie Lyon and Anthony Watmough were omitted due to injury."

Belting no. 2 coming soon.

State of Origin, Merls. Players who played their initial senior games in Qld v those who played their initial games in NSW. It's a 30 year classic series that really gets the Banjos and the Spivs pasions flowing.

The Banjos have the wood on the Spivs, having won the last 4 best-of-3 series. And they have already won game 1 on away soil so look good for series victory no. 5 ina row, something that hasn't been done by either side.

Basically a NSW v Qld Rugby Leeeeg smack-fest.

NSW v Qld Rugby League. shrug

Only rule, you must play for the State team that you played your first senior game in.

Surely they're not serious about Gidley captaining the side from the bench.

New South Wales selectors: he was a dud pick as captain in the first place - just admit it!

Hehehe, a couple of judiciary hearings and a couple of injuries beign covered, bl. But your point is valid.

We could play 21 on the park and Inglis and Slater would still cut us to shreds. Cool

What is it with NSW? Their selectors seem to fark it up every year. They can't get a Greg McCallum ad nauseum.

I think he played for a Qld Melbourne Storm feeder club (U-18s Brisbane Wombats). It's a farkin joke because he is a born-and-bred Kempsey kid (a little town just up the road from my home town on the Dubber mid-north coast). Played all his footy for Bowraville (up the hill from Kempsey) until the near the end of High School when he moved to Brisbane. Qld's gain, Dubber's major loss. Sad
