But I don't think Ponting was speaking from stats perspective. He was more talking about Hughes' approach towards run making which obviously looked a bit similar to that of Sehwag's in this innings.

Even though the sample size is small, his S/r in tests is strikingly inferior to that of Sehwag. And probably thats why its bit futile to compare Hughes' style with Sehwag on the basis of 1 innings.
