WW enters the 1990s

Post by WideWally on Thu 11 Mar 2010, 02:07

Yes, that's right. The world's widest Wally has entered the 1990s. I bought a decent TV last week & got Foxtel this week. So I no longer need to rely on Channel 9 to watch cricket. Previously I only saw players perform in test matches in Australia & often never saw them at their best. A lot of our Asian friends have experienced problems with the bounce in Australia & have struggled. There have also been crazy situations where I have hardly seen well-known cricketers. e.g. Andrew Flintoff debuted in tests in 1998 but I never saw him until the 2005 Ashes. Jerome Taylor is one of the best fast bowlers around but I have only seen him bowl about 9 overs in tests along with a couple of one dayers in the World Cup. Ian Bell is considered to be a superstar of the modern game but I have only seen him against Australia when he always looks as though he has pooped his pants. I've never seen him at his superlative best.

Same thing with other sports. I have always felt left out when forumers discuss the World's greatest athlete but the other night for the first time I saw Phil "the Power" Taylor & now understand why he is held in such high esteem.

Tonight I'm watching horse racing from Vaal & greyhounds from Mandurah although I might soon check out the Paris - Nice cycling.

All I need is a mobile phone, broadband & one of those things with all the music on it. Then I can consider myself a man of the 21st century.

Good times!
drunken

I'm pleased that you now have access to more cricket. You'll be able to see him poop his pants all over the world.

We would have lost the series in SA were it not for the Bellend. Really hope he's turned a corner now.

I know... But how many times has he done that and stacked the next few tests? One swallow...

At least this time he showed a bit of grit.

The biggest problem everyone had was that he had never scored pressure runs. His 50 in the third test was one of the best pressure knocks I've seen.
