Good thing we're playing against a TAYPOC-er opponent.

I've seen more vicious thrown-downs in the nets at my old club. Lofty dross on a length, the batsmen were just leaning back in the crease and smiting him.

Still think Lever got away with his lunacy a bit. He should've had stacks of abuse.

Dello wrote:I read somewhere that he'd (Finn) put on a yard of pace and was clocking 90mph these days.

The way he gunned one of their batsmen out, he looked like he'd added a yard - it was a crackerjack wicket even against this shitheap. And I saw it from behind the wicket so I shouldn't judge. But going on that one ball I saw, yes, he should be in the team.

Phurtsville, Massachusetts...

He's something out of the ordinary. My problem with him was that he was 'too Tremlett' in that he needed to drag himself just to fashion a bit of pace. If he's upped his clicks, we may as well try him out. Beats your 'usual' Bresnan type. The single ball highlighted to me he at least had a bit of pace. He's seemed too 'powderpuff' to me in the past.

Looked like Cook was bowling with as much pace and movement than him and he's marginally better with the bat, once every five series.

Yeah but you wouldn't want Cook to open the bowling.

Or batting these days.

Possibly he could open the fielding....as he did in his spell against Bangladesh A.

Well, it was only one ball... just seemed a bit more of a pick because you didn't know what pace he was trying to bowl at because he didn't seem to have to wrench himself into his action just to gain a bit of pace. Usually you could tell before he'd even bowled the ball.

He should grit out a boring 80 to save our skins.

He should have grit out a "boring 80" in that five over spell.

Fat chance that Lever would ever admit that Cook was stupid enough to allow batsmen some easy runs.

Remind me, what was the reason for Cook bowling?
