Only one of us qunts looks like a f*cking visionary.
Of course you'd back him. You were the forum Atherton on the subject....
Again calm your pants! I was agreeing with you about the over-intellectualising remark!!

I just don't get it when any player bowls declaration filth when they at least have some ability in that skill. It's like a player going out to bat with a stick of rhubarb just for the shits and giggles....
4 wickets? And you're worrying that he's ruining his figures?
That's like worrying about a number 11 who got 12 in 8 balls saying he's ruining his batting figures...
Honestly, I'm surprised no-one else has even mentioned your ire.

I'm quite impressed he gave away that many. What did he do, put everyone behind square on the off side boundary and float pies on leg stump?

Are we really going to pick John Crawley as our second spinner?
Can't believe how quickly the selectors lost faith in Adil Rashid, one bad over at altitude with two well set batsmen and he's hardly been seen ever since.

The selectors prefer to have as little variety as possible in the bowling department.

Not a surprise though. They were always going to go back to a steady non-spinning finger spinner at the first sign of an exotic leggie looking like he won't go at under 3 runs per over. It's the English way.
It's ridiculous to think that Rashid - a bloke in sight of 200 FC wickets already in his short career - couldn't do a handy job as second spinner to Swann against a team of rank amateurs.
He'd also slot in nicely at seven as a genuine all-rounder - something that Broad, Bresnan or *deep breath* Luke Wright most certainly aren't.
Hey ho - what are you going to do?

Looks like Dello's wish of a Steven Finn Test debut is looking even more promising.
Broad
Plunkett
Finn
Swann
Tredwell
Crackinfo expect Finn to play and Bresnan over Plunkett.

Bit harsh to put Shahzad behind Finn but hopefully sanity will prevail in the England camp.

Re: Bangladesh v England, 1st test, Chittagong, Mar 12-16
I read somewhere that he'd (Finn) put on a yard of pace and was clocking 90mph these days.
If that's the case, at just 20 and 6' 8", I suppose there's no harm in giving him a whirl - an investment for the future. If he works out, no-one ever has to mention Steve Harmison again.
And Harmison absolutely walked all over Bangladesh the last time England were here as they couldn't play bounce in the slightest.
Don't fancy Bresnan much - he bowls from so wide of the crease, his margin for error is tiny. It's either perfect or easy runs off the legs. But he looks a strong lad who doesn't shirk hard work, so perhaps there's something there for England to polish up, so to speak.
Broad at seven? Because that's always been a winning strategy...
