Bangladesh v England, 1st test, Chittagong, Mar 12-16
Possible England team-
Cook(c)
Carberry
Trott
Pietersen
Collingwood
Bell
Prior+
Broad
Swann
Tredwell
Onions
We'll need to be on our guard otherwise I can see the bangers pulling off an upset.

You mean taking the game into a fifth day?

This is England we're talking about. And the Bangers are slowly but surely improving. They're gonna beat us sooner or later.

You mean their improving in different areas but not in their overall game.
"Improving" means they could probably hold out until day 5, but still lose the match.
You take Bangladesh "improving" as though they've actually got the resources, nouce and talent capabilities of overturning England.
Bangladesh are one or two trick ponies, Tamim (with the bat) and Shakib (bat and ball) and the rest work around that. Look at Ashraful; we all expected him to be the best Bangla batter in the world, but he's literally dropped off the radar and off the squad sheet.
Either it's due to his impatience to succeed, or the overall feeling that Bangladesh players are lazy in some ways and after making a couple of centuries - they feel that they've done their bit for the cause and can rest on those few decent knocks. Very much like a majority of the England players do.
Day one of the first Test, I can likely see Bangladesh wiping the floor with England (as has so often happened with other teams touring) but this is where Bangladesh's problems lie. They don't continue to pressure the opposing side enough and teams with experience (even New Zealand) have enough ability to settle into a routine.
I still think it's due to the lack of four day competition in their domestic ranks.

If Tredwell gets a test cap we deserve to lose.

Rubbish. If Tredwell gets a Test cap I can tell everyone that I am desperately unlucky not to be playing, on the grounds of hitting him for several sixes in the past.

Yes, but how many of the posters on here can say how desperately unlucky they were and should be playing for England right now, eh? Answer me that, dammit. What? Oh.

Well, I can't say that but that's not because I couldn't hit Tredwell for six.

Now a nailed-on certainty:
Bangles A 202 a.o. - Tredders 6/95
England 68/3 - KP out for 2

So as variety from a diet of right-arm seam up, we will have:
Swann - off spin
Tredwell - off spin
KP - off spin
Colly - off-spin/off cutters
A bit like the menu from the Python spam sketch.

Looks like Finn might be in the running for a Test spot.

Officially, he's only there as cover, but it would be hard to ignore him if he returned a Michelle in the second innings.

Although for that to happen, England's batting would need capitulate massively....oh wait.

Tredwell bags two in the Bangladesh A second innings.
So Pingu is set for a Test debut?
Finn went for seven off his solitary over.
