Vaughan not enamoured of the SA influx

He's more disposed to KP's defection possibly because he helped him in the 2005 Ashes but is not impressed with Trott and Kieswetter's career moves.

Clearly not Red, otherwise she would have given us her two cents on the issue.

Not much opinion can be conveyed in a cut and paste.

Re: Vaughan not enamoured of the SA influx
My view is that those who move to the Old Dart early in their lives can be bonafide Englishmen by the time they launch their cricket careers but players such as KP, Trott and Kieswetter and some of the other SA journeymen plying their trade on the county circuit will always be considered saffers.

Re: Vaughan not enamoured of the SA influx
Stay tuned to hear how it's all Graeme Smith's fault anyway.
There's no resolution to this tiresome debate in the short term, as far as I can see. But in time, if KP or Trott or the other bloke pack their bags for Sith Eff the moment their Test careers are over, it will tell a tale. But if they stay in England after they've finished like (AFAIK) Alan Lamb and Robin Smith, then indeed WGAF?
As we saw around 1993, if the imports a) don't cut the mustard and/or b) don't stay, it can look suspiciously like lazy selection policy.

Iain O'Brien has recently moved to Middlesex to live with his wife (who is of English origins).
4 Years on, if he can still do the business, will he debut for England and play the Kiwi's?
That'd be mildly amusing.
