Re: Hockey World Cup
After a long time I saw full stadiums or a hockey match. I was hoping finally it was a start.....
All the stupid politics and stand offs before the Cup was bound to have this result. Idiots!

Re: Hockey World Cup
Went to watch yesterday. Noticed two things -
1. Whatever be the issue, Pakistan do get support when they don't play us.
2. Indian men are the horniest group of people in the whole world.
The problem is, the Indian team isn't all that good.

Don't be.
There's a shed load of serious hockey played over here ... Slough (about 10 miles away) have at least 30 very good teams in and around the area from which England have picked the majority of their squad.
A strong Indian influence from past years and a renewed enthusiasm from the local youth who prefer the game to footie.
Artificial surfaces have also made the playing of the game in all kinda weather conditions - which helps.

thats been our problem. i read somewhere that some suburbs of amsterdam have more astro-turfs than all of india. ever since the game switched from grass to astro its been a long, steady slide for india. hardly anyone sees an astro-turf until they reach national level hockey

Re: Hockey World Cup
Artifical surfaces at the international level totally killed hockey in India while Pakistan also started to go down hill after the 1994 WC win.
