Re: Hockey World Cup
Sandeep Singh was just magical with his drag flicks. His 2nd goal was simply awesome. Pak had absolutely no chance on that. Such a scorcher that shot was.

Re: Hockey World Cup
Did I see that some Indian was banned for 3 ganes for attacking a Pak player with his hockey stick?

Yep I did. Reduced to 2 on appeal. Here
Shivendra Singh, India’s leading striker, will line up against England in Saturday’s game after his three-match ban for deliberately hitting a Pakistan player with his stick was reduced to two on appeal.

Re: Hockey World Cup
Ind simply couldn't match Aus's pace. Aus were supreme during entire 70-min duration.
India's forwards fluffed some very simple chances. Shivendra Singh's absence cost them dearly. Drag flicker Sandeep Singh was totally off color.

They've softened up hockey since I played it.

Re: Hockey World Cup
Really harsh decision. Was accidental IMO and Pakistan didn't complain, neither was it an issue on the field. Oh well...
Anyways, it isn't that India played badly yesterday (except penalty corners), Aus were excellent in their defence and lethal on counters. Oh well...

Re: Hockey World Cup
Hockey is discriminatory against left-handers. For that reason it should be banned.

Then you probably didn't see the game. We hardly have the possession of the ball. As I said earlier our forwards missed some simple chances. Our defence was shaky as can be seen by Aus tonking 2 goals in first 2 min of the match.
