Cameron Diaz is hot. And that ep only reinforced it.

Tom Cruise came across as almost human, with a sense of humour.

And the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport... Wow!

In a conspiracy theory rivalling JFK and the moon landing, Cruise and Diaz's times were doctored to ensure that they got the two fastest times

..which the BBC has strenuously denied. Of course.
What are the odds on JK (the singing petrolhead, not our very own) being wheeled out in the near future to reclaim his crown?

Two wheels are faster than four. Over short distances. And Cruise went up on two wheels for a short distance.

That last corner was clearly very fast, but the rest of the lap seemed slower to me.

Aye - it was funny. They seem to have settled into a decent groove this series; but the studio gooning - which is clearly scripted, though they try to make it look ad libbed - is tiresome.
Minor gripe, however. Still an hour's good telly.

It's all scripted.

The RV stuff was just a rehash of the previous (scripted) caravan trip, complete with predictable pratfalls and "accidents". And rubbish acting.

I always think it's a shame when they try so hard to make a funny, as the trio have enough chemistry and wit to be perfectly entertaining without all the obvious set-ups.

Too forced.

A friend of mine has just got back from the filming of this Sunday's episode (Jeff Goldblum is the guest) and says that it's not actually scripted, though prepared, obviously; but if one of them says something funny and then drops a bollock in a subsequent line, or there's a continuity error (of which there were a few, apparently) they repeat the line and the audience has to laugh again.
Obviously after 3 or 4 takes it's feeling very forced all round.
Another snippet: You know the long sticker on the lap-times board? This will only stay up for about 30 seconds, so they have some lad to whack it up on the board while Clarkson delivers his line before it falls off again.
Oh, and his every other word off-camera is qunt. And James May is a very nice chap, and Richard Hammond is the size of your average 7 year old.

Only after Simon Cowle has claimed it first.

Goldblum - plays a genius in many movies, but can't drive a manual car. The auto version of the 'reasonably priced car' dies, so he had to lap in the manual. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but the engine noise when he goes past the tyres was startling.
