Pup's prickliest participants

Post by skully on Thu 11 Feb 2010, 20:43

Linkage - Pup's fiercest foes

1. Freddy

2. GBH aka PHS

3. Chuck (FFS)

4. Monkey Man

5. Stain.

I can understand Fred and Blot, but the others are just sooks.

My face when Clarke was still worried about Steve Harmison.

2. Stephen Harmison (England)

I have always rated Stephen very highly. I found it hard to believe that he was left out of England’s team for the first Ashes Test last year. He releases the ball from a very high point and I have always found him very hard to go forward to. He bowls in the mid-to-high 140kmh range and, as I found out in 2005, he has a wonderful slower ball.

There was also that caught and bowled from the unmentionable Ashes series in 2006/07 - which came from a 'slower ball'.

It was actually hard to tell if Harmy was bowling slower balls in that series, or if he was more focused on hitting the strip.

Yeah, PHS bowled one good ball to Pup in all the time he faced him, and he rates him in his top 5 "fiercest foes". FFS.

I'd rate the ball that smacked Drunky in the face and cut him in Ashes 05 as his best ever ball because it put doubt into the Aussie side.

Harmy certainly marked his territory on the Aussie team.

Damn straight. That moment should never be underrated in Ashes history.

Aye, spang. A slap in the face for Stain, or a c0ck-shine for Bung.

I used to rate Pup.

I'm glad I came to my senses. He is a cock.

Harbhajan has had such a fall from grace over the past decade.

Will he only be remembered for one significant series?

(India v Australia, 2001).

Clarke has a persistent back problem that may put paid to a long-term stint as skipper.
