SG wrote:He did what no Indian spinner ever did in SA. Tie SA batsmen in knots. Even Kumble was helpless on SA pitches save 1 or 2 spells.
PS: Swann is immense.
SG wrote:Swann is the best spinner in world cricket. Don't say anything bad about him.
I just love the way he bowls, he bats, the way he conducts himself on the field. Easily my favorite Eng cricketer.
Me too. I've wanted him in the team for years. Tossers like merlin, JKLever(in particular) and a few other idiots didn't want him in the side. He brings us a dynamic edge. Still don't think the Indian batsmen will be troubled by him.
SG wrote:BTW, what is ADHD?
Just curious to know.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
i.e. I'm saying that they've got nothing that they can dig in with at the crease.

He brings us a dynamic edge.
Just like Freddie, perhaps? Just that Swann is a spinner. BTW, how good a fielder he is?

He's a pretty good catcher. Was something of a surprise when he dropped one in the slips during the SA test series.

Sort of like Freddie - a little bit less spectacular.
Good fielder, now he's older his ground fielding is a little down (he's got a tiny bit of a gut) but his catching is excellent.

SG wrote:Further on Swann, if we couldn't even get Harris away at home then we don't stand a chance against Swann (world's best spinner).
not comparable. harris has been hard to get away only due to the extremely negative line used against right-handers, swann will not be able to do the same
of course he's much better than harris as a spinner, but i cant see him winning too many tests for england against india. he can do a very good support job for his pacers and pick up the odd wicket

This usually follows when he's approaching a double century.

Strauss should be gagging for a chance to get a double century against the Bangers...oh wait.
