There haven't been too many Tests in India - period - lately. But of the last six, two were won by the team batting first, two by the team batting second, and two were drawn.

fair enough . . . I just couldn't recall any other than the Lankan test . . . I guess the other was agin the poms?

Yep. The link shows just how few Tests have been played in India recently. 3 in 06, 3 in 07, 9 in 08, 3 in 09.

It's not that they've played so few Tests, just so few at home.

Year by year...

2005 8 Tests, 6 at home
2006 12 Tests, 3 at home
2007 10 Tests, 3 at home
2008 15 Tests, 9 at home
2009 6 Tests, 3 at home

Sounds about right. They had a big year in 2008 - 7 v Aus, 3 v SAf, 3 v SL and 2 v Eng.
