HTF does the Predictor change it's results from day to day? Does it depend on the time of the month?

So the points shown in the current table have changed recently (as a result of the August drop-offs)? I thought India (now showing at 130 points) and South Africa (119) were a lot closer not so long ago.

Still, that seems a massive gap between India and SAf, when many would place the Yarps ahead of India. But I guess that is current form, not form over the past 3 years.

And Aus looks like it will find it impossible to get to no. 1 again for a good while. On current form and based on the team on paper, that's probably a fair thing.

And SL if it wins the last test will be almost level with SA. India certainly has surged well clear of the Proteas though despite only drawing with them on home soil. SA paid for its poor home series against the poms while the Aussies have been playing lowly ranked teams and losing to Pakistan in a test won't help.

Geez, the predictor goes right out now to include the Ashes and the home Indian series v Saffies. Lot's of combos and permutations there.

Couldn't be @rsed going through them all, but I doubt any combo will get Aus above 3rd spot.

Aus need to beat India in India and hope that NZ draw or beat India in India, Aus wins the Ashes and SAf beat India in India, for Aus to move back to 2nd.

Oz and NZ in India will be tough ones, skull . . . but with India's current bowling, there might be a few draws around at least

Well the only unrealistic scenario there is the NZ/IND one.

Indeed taccy. Neither Ind nor Aus look capable of dismissing each other twice on a flatish deck.

Aye qmy, but it was the only combo that got Aus above 3rd spot. How sh!t are we having to rely on the Snoozers to draw or beat the Bannies to get out of 3rd spot?

Yeah I originally had that, TO, but thought I read that it was an Indian home series. My bad.

Australia is set to fall to 5th on the rankings.

If we lose or draw this current Test, then we fall below England.

The only saving grace is that to fall any further would require about a 30 point drop to Pakistan's level...
