I don't think the calculator is correct at the minute. Last I heard, we can't be knocked off the top spot until SA beat NZ.

Pakistan has leapt to number 2 at 114
England drops to 3 at 112
Australia & India are both on 111
Of course, the predictor somewhat strangely, when a three-nil result for the Eng/Pak series is put in takes the number of England games the result is calculated on from 41 to 45, and the Pakistan calculation from 35 to 39... Not sure how three tests played can add up to four tests played, but I'm sure the ICC has it under control...
The ICC has subcontracted the calculations to Pakpassion

Official ratings still have England at #1 by virtue of a single point ahead of the Saffers.
Again I say, I'm just reporting what the link says. Hence the 'It seems' at the start of the post. Go to the calculator and try it and see how the ICC has seemingly cocked it up again...
Or changed the formula to generate more income from the subcontinent...

The extra match makes all the difference, as I say we shouldn't be able to be knocked off the perch until SA plays NZ and even then I think there's almost concurrence with the SL/Eng series and if we win that we won't be able to get knocked off the perch until SA plays us.

Heard on the radio last week that we would have to do NZ 3-0. Not sure how true that is.

Re: ICC Test rankings predictor - try it yourself
There's gonna be about 3 points difference between the top four teams- England, South Africa, Australia, and Pakistan, soon.
India might stay near the top as they've scheduled a heap of cricket at home for pretty much the next year.

Although you've gotta say, there's surely something wrong with the ranking system when the number five ranked team can whitewash the number one ranked team, yet there's no change at all in the rankings.

That extra malarkey they were miscalculating makes a helluva difference.
In essence SA could go top because the rankings don't update until the end of series... their series finishes in March, ours in April. That's assuming we'll win in SL

Aye. We need to win this one to do so. Which, given our last eight batting performances, doesn't seem likely.

Just heard we're top by decimal places, rounding up. Ridiculous.

Sets up the SA/Eng series nicely. Frigging 3 tests.
