Steve Kirby turns 33 in 2010.
Desperate selection - if that's the best we can do, we are royally farked.
What happened to Chris Jordan then?

seems like they really rate Andrew Gale. Geoff Miller sounded positively gushing when he explained the choice of Gale as Lions captain. I think they want to get more guys in and around the England squad who could possibly take over from Strauss as captain. At the moment Cook is the only realistic option.

Well Gale's got the most important job in cricket next year, so lets see how he does with that. If he's alright England can have him now and then - if he's really good he'll have to stay with Yorkshire.

He hasn't got much of a first class record, but then neither did Trescothick or Vaughan......

Aye, and when he gets past it he'll probably end up moving down south to some backwater like Gough and Middlebrook did.
