43 in melbourne today and worse in the bush...maximum fire warning ...for the moment it is still outside but strong winds are also predicted in the afternoon...not as bad as Black Saturday last year but pretty grim nonetheless.

Why would towns like Horsham be under alertt It's in the middle of miles and miles of cleared cropping land isn't it?

I meant it's not backing onto and surrounded byheavily forested hills. From memory the place looks like a billiard table.

The fires last year burnt out the beautiful Horsham golf course...plenty of abatment activity has happened qmy
