The Sydney scars and the horrors of Hobart.......

Post by PlanetPakistan on Fri 08 Jan 2010, 04:40

This is what happened 10 years ago...
http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63855.html

The only way to bury the ghosts of Sydeny2010 and Hobart 99 is to SMASH the Aussies at Hobart and then win the series in England(against AUS) later this year...

anything less will simply NOT be enough

To be honest, I reckon Pakistan could do without Yousuf. Never seems to be up for a fight when his team really needs him.

Get Younis back in charge, and build a team of youngsters. How about-

Butt
Shehzad
Younis(c)
Umar
Amin
Afridi (Try and coax him out of test retirement)
Sarfraz+
Aamer
Gul
Kaneria
Asif

We need Yousuf, just take the captaincy off him and let him concentrate on batting.

Pakistan could do a lot worse than to bring in Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. He's already in Hobart & has been a real star for Tasmania in the 20/20 comp.

This Pakistan side got caught in the headlights at the SCG, but there's enough there to suggest that they might be a handful next Summer.

Tim Lane has something to say about this in today's press.

What odds Haurie doing well again? Will they be calling him "Horrors of Hobart"? Cool

And what odds would you have got 6 months ago about Watson, Hussey and Hauritz being the three star performers after 2 Test v Paksters?

Hope haury does well in hobart then surely they will leave him alone and accept that he is the resident spinner for now cos we don't have much else.

well who would have thought that watto turning out as he has. huss has come good that should leave the naysayers with egg on their face.

a bit harsh that pakistan has dropped kamran after one poor test, least it showed haddin to be a star bounce

I guess that's fair. A bit rough to change a winning side, albeit one that got out of gaol by the skin of its teeth.
