Maybe he will become his native land's nemesis in the second dig.

Or else do something furiously feeble-minded once more.

How come most of his dismissals are attributed to a moment of caprice yet plenty of other batsmen in the series seem to be able to waft airily with impunity?

Because Kev has a lot of natural talent (eye, strength, timing) but he is .... how can I say this? .....no Einstein, I think.
And wastes his wicket more often than he should. The waste is greater when the talent is larger.

You know, the moaning about Pietersen getting out is very reminiscent of the way people would moan about Gower getting out. In both cases, it was a moan about the best batsman in the team.

Though his most successful innings have been in a sense when he's been playing daring shots. He went out yesterday to a ball which swung a bit, hardly a crime on this sort of pitch. As good as he is, sometimes he's just beaten by challenging deliveries. And Strauss fell yet again in similar vein to Morkel. Is he culpable?

SS - But that's exactly the point, no?
Red - anyone is "culpable" if he is capable of bad dismissals. (I am not talking of the occasional error.) But if your most gifted batsman falls into traps, has rushes of blood, or goes off at half-cock rather more often than he should, it is the more exasperating. Do you enjoy Punter in idiotic mode?

Strauss is quickly becoming Morkel's bunny.

Just as well as it wasn't in India.

No but for example the pull shot has been responsible for his downfall a bit this summer. You could argue that he's played it injudiciously. Then again it's responsible for a fair number of his runs and looks commanding when executed correctly.

Saw on another site the ECB were getting their legal team on to it, so I guess the sun had to take it down. It's apparently lies made up by someone who then passed it on to the sun. Am sure if it was true it would have been caught on camera by someone.
Will find a linkage.. Here
