reading the title of the taips celebration thread again I noticed the MHR...in Australia those initials denote "Member of the House of Representatives" ie a lower house politician in the Australilan Parliament...
what sort of polly would Taips make?...and what sort of party (other than birthdays) would he represent?...I think in Oz political terms he would be a left of centre Liberal...

so ok I was being kind - it being your birthday- yes you would make a fine upstanding born again right wing National Party member (they represent the farmers and bogan billies) living in fear that your 'correspondence' with dem will eventually come to light
