I see where Atherton in The Times raises the toss issue again.

'South Africa reflected with regret not on their individual failings, but on the toss, which Strauss said was "one of the better tosses to lose". Graeme Smith was insistent that he had made the right decision to bat first, although his coach, Mickey Arthur, thought otherwise. Careful not to blame his captain, he said that the decision inadvertently handed England the advantage. Smith thought his team "far too imprecise" with the ball.
