Not SUCH a bad decision considering the fact that PAK did lack a bit of pace in the NZ series now the key is which M Sami will show up? the one that bowls 135 -138 KPH rubbish OR the one that bowls at around 155 KPH

until 2003-04ish he was the AAMER of PAK cricket...
I personally would have picked a youngster ahead of him BUT if he has started bowling at 145-150(i am not asking for 155) then why not?

Because he bowled that speed and was shite. Really, really shite. In fact, doesn't he average 50 with the ball in Tests? Woeful. Aamer has probably already done more than Sami in his short career. One to be proud of.

I know you like your fast bowlers PP but Sami is probably the worst fast bowler I have ever seen. I know stats don't tell the whole story but you can't excuse a 50+ average in 30+ tests.

no doubt he was rubbish but that was due to the fact that he REDUCED his pace(and run up)

he was already averaging 40 in 9 tests by jan 2003 (only got worse after that). had some moments against the snoozers but was mostly out of his depth in test cricket

A good move. Not since Inzamam retired have Pakistan had such a steadfast cricketer who can be relied upon to average over 50 against the best teams.
