Sk, I like the sound of the little Christmas tree, all twinkly at night, near the seaside. Bewdiful.

In the spirit of the season, I watched some of the Carols in the Domain on teev last night. It was sponsored, along with others, by Telstra. Lo and behold, they did a live cross to Santa at the top of Sydney Tower - where else - who was holding onto his hoary beard and hat for grim life, in the face of a howling wind.)
Anyhoo, he had a bluddy mobile in his hand and was encouraging all, 'Don't forget to ring your Mother for Christmas. '

I swear the advertising was so cheap and brazen I was dumbstruck. I guess at least Telstra helps fund the programme.

I tried to get an early night last night but was too hyped to sleep - ended up channel flicking just in time to see Stanley sing Amazing Grace - and then whatsername said "that was amazing" Rolling Eyes - then they started with a song from Wicked so I switched off. Glad I missed the the phone stunt. Evil or Very Mad

No wonder you couldn't sleep. How good was your boy Dougie?

Yes I heard the Stanster sing AG. He was the best there, but his voice sounded wearied. Those Idol producers extract their pound.

In satancorp today I heard Guy Sebastian's amazing voice being piped through a store and he was singing Christmas carols. Just beautiful
.
If yoozall would like to hear a voice that's as good as anyone's going around, anywhere, youtube his name and either
Everything I Do (a song he sang live while an Idol contestant 6 years ago); or Taller, Stronger, Better; or Like It Like That; or The Art of Love, with Jordin Sparks; or anything you find, really. You might not enjoy the style, but his voice is fabulous; and he's as good live as he is recorded.

I so look forward to watching Carols by Candlelight from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Victoria on Christmas Eve. It's an open-air show attended by tens of thousands. After the last present's wrapped and we're happily exhausted, we lounge around the teev with a wine and watch the carols every year. Great show.

It's funny that you should mention Guy. I had Art Of Love spinning around in my head all day at the cricket - it was that song and a combination of being cricket-hyped that kept me from sleeping. I'm still hyper but that will probably last until I start tackling the mountain of housework that didn't get done while I was swanning it around the WACA. Laughing

I'm going to miss CbyC this year - I usually watch it every year in my post-wrapping exhaustion too. But we're off to the shack on Wednesday - so much to do, so little time. I was so pleased to hear this morning that the postal workers are going on strike, delaying the delivery of cards and presents - the perfect excuse for my tardiness this year. Laughing

Just got an email from skully.

I thought I'd get into the Christmas spirit and download a festive porn, but "Santa gives naughty schoolgirl what she deserves" didn't live up to my expectations.

It's just a little girl opening a box of coal.

I spent ages at the merch van on Friday trying to decide what cricket shirt to get my husband. As we were walking in to the ground yesterday, he said "love those training shirts, wouldn't mind getting one." suicide

Get some Longhorns gear. At least then you're not sucking up to CA.

Men - impeccable timing.

Just wanted to wish you and the family a wonderful Christmas at the shack. Stay safe and happy and make it a good one.
Fingers crossed for all appliances to work, for the sun to shine and the fish to bite.

Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too. I hope you have a lovely day, even though most of your fam will be o/s. Thanks for another year of forum friendship and laffs (I'd add a huggy emoticon to the post right now but there's none in the window. Hopefully a I love you will do in it's place! ).

Dear Heart's dropping me back home on the 27th and then heading straight back to the shack. For some reason he wasn't willing to get up at 5am and drive me home on Boxing Day so I'll miss the first day of the test this year. Could be worse, I guess. shrug

Merry Christmas FBers! wave
