Virender Sehwag is the best opening batsman of all time

Post by Henry on Wed 02 Dec 2009, 23:09

The amount of runs he scores, and the speed at which he scores them, makes him a batsman that is matched in history possibly by only Bradman, Lara, and Viv Richards.

Discuss.

How often did Sehwag face McGrath at the Gabba?

Whats that go to do with anything? How often did Viv Richards face Mcgrath at the Gabba? Does it make him a lesser batsman because he never did?

Lara's S/r was only near about 60, I believe. Nowhere near Sehwag's.

Though I still think he isn't even India's best ever opener, let alone world's best ever.

I think Richards' strike rate was calculated recently to only be about 60 as well.

Wherever Sehwag faced McGrath or Warne, he didn't do too badly.

What more does he have to do? Sunny had the same average but his strike rate was about 40 runs per 100 balls less than Sehwag.

I mean, I just want to roll around laughing, but it's such a ridiculous thing to say that I'd rather just say that I love to watch him bat and ignore the topic. Again, no offence to him, but he just flayed a bunch of shit bowlers on a dead deck. Flays them like noone in the world today, though.

Angelo Mathews is not shit.

He's good enough to play for Essex.

Well, I'd better hedge my bets because he made a few runs - but he looks like "Supergash - The Revenge Of The Shitheap"
