Have you ever tried a curry in Australia? They haven't a clue.
There is bad curry to be had everywhere. There is also good curry, yes, even in Australia.

I remember in Home and Away once Alf said his injured toe was giving him "a bit of curry".
Perhaps that's where the Aussies have been going wrong with their curries - they think toe-jam is a key ingredient.
When, in fact, it's merely for decoration...

Pretty bloody rare. I even had some muppet ask me whether I wanted a vindaloo (seriously limited menu - best of a bad lot) to be mild, medium or hot.
Your Indian curries are shockingly appalling, mild, bland tasteless rubbish. No surprise, of course, you haven't had the Indian or Bangladeshi immigration to develop it as a strong cuisine like we have. Your Thai food on the other hand is vastly superior to ours, and for the same reason in reverse.
Mind you, you really don't like hot dishes over there, do you?

I'm over at least once a year mate. To every state bar NT - and ACT I suppose, but who cares about that?
It's completely true. Your Indian food is mild and crap. What your restaurants call hot isn't hot at all. My heart sinks every time someone suggests we go for an Indian meal, no matter how they build it up, it's always rubbish. As I say, your Thai food on the other hand.....mmmmmmmmm!

If you say so.
I guess we haven't progressed to measuring how manly a man is by how hot he likes his curry.
We still use a tape measure
skully's pharked either way
appearently

I quite like a mild curry. Something creamy with coconut or almonds or something.
There's a time and place for everything.

Don't really see why you're defensive about it to be honest. It's not surprising that your Thai food would be better than ours for the same reason our Indian food is better than yours. Britain's known for the quality of its Indian food, and yes, we like it spicier than you do, as do the Indians themselves. My curry-loving Australian colleagues adore it when they come over because they can get a decent curry here - in just the same way I seek out Thai restaurants in Australia when I'm there (or Thailand of course).

I am not really. I just used it an has avenue to bag Qlders and then skully under the guise of debating with a pom.
It was either that or do work.
I see it as a win win

Queensland's weird though. Everyone knows that. It's quite something to create smoking laws that manage to piss off everyone, smokers and non-smokers alike, but they've done it.
