Of coursre that could have just been Ian Smith making sh!t up but it sounded impressive
One of the nein farqknuts mentioned that in the Gabba Test ...I havent checked the ICC regs to see if its true

Suggesting that hawkeye has any area of certainty is a bit of a stretch.
In case you care, smuffy reckons it was a rectangle that borders the middle of off stump, the bails and leg stump

The half ball thing is what I heard during the Brisbane telecast. I truly like it.

Does it not go all the way down the outside off & leg stump as well? My impression was that there needed to be half or more of the ball hitting (according to hawkeye) for it to be sufficiently conclusive.

Curious as to why Gayle is not unleashing and upping the rate. Is he satisfied with a draw?

He knows they already have enough and wants to grind us into the dirt.

Fark off all these frivolous referrals.
Skully, you then have to ask the question, what happens next? The answer is that there will be 10 reviews per day & the Nein imbeciles will then be asking why is the game being slowed down like this?

I may have misunderstood you in my previous post. Genuine frivilous appeals are a blight but there is a mechanism for dealing with them.
Aye Mick. Leave things to the on field umps but when there is the very occasional Ashoker, then allow the Match Ref to step in within no more than one minute of the dismissal and call for a referral. Make the Match Ref earn his fee. You may only get one referral a day.

Still, he might have expected to get more overs than Marcus North.

Gayle isn't Mr. Integrity. So all options are open.

Anyways, Windies now 7 down with 4 overs left today and a 289 run lead. Looks like the game is pretty well set up to me.
I saw that the draw was paying 1.22 a little while ago which means that there is value on the result.

Windies are about 40 runs short of where they need to be. Aus can still win this

Windies have been a bit slow but they were discussing on the ABC just before that they believe they will be satisfied with a draw given their recent history of defeat and the low expectations surrounding the series. Surely they should try to win the Frank Worrell Trophy though. One thing which may be weighing on Gayle's mind is how fit and fresh the bowlers are after their key marathon spells the other day.

So at stumps the Windies lead by 296 with only two wickets left. You would imagine that Gayle will bat on. He's put some egg on the faces of his critics today. Johnson ended up with 4/85 with some indifferent bowling interspersed with some killer deliveries.

Rather, I think Gayle has proved the critics right . . . if he doesn't try to score at more than a run a ball and puts his head down, he can do a great job for his country . . . isn't that what his critics have been asking for?
