Re: The Thread that everyone should post in
No Rob, but it was a chance for a crusto like yourself to get in with the youth. It was all a bit 'dad in the doorway wearing cords trying to act cool' in your case.Rob I wrote:taipan wrote:Shoey, many moons ago there was a long running thread on C4 called Sunshine/Lollipops.
Personally I have no idea what it was about as I never read it.
I read it. Sue Marcs created it as a response to all the arsy threads on C4. Flintoff vs Jesus it was not.

I was thinking more mustard. With him either having his hands in his pockets with his thumbs out or his thumbs in his pockets with his hands out.

P'raps. I'd envisioned one hand looped in the crocodile-skin belt while he absent-mindedly fingered his gold neck medallion with the other.

I didn't post in it, apart from to utterly slag off the entire Sunshine/Lollipops concept.

How opinions differ. I've thought he buys into the whole 'Geography Teacher Chic'. Geochi.lardbucket wrote:P'raps. I'd envisioned one hand looped in the crocodile-skin belt while he absent-mindedly fingered his gold neck medallion with the other.

Pishposh Fish. You used to canvas youngsters for their 'opinion on stuff' and act all cuddly wuddly with michelle and george. Or was it 'Shellybear' and 'georgie'?Rob I wrote:

Not in that Marcs thread I didn't. Anyway, stop harping back to the C4 days.

Pfft. It was in context, a parallel was drawn between this thread and the old school thread. It wasn't an angst-ridden, nostalgic whingeathon about the discrepancy between the old glory days where brilliance was the norm and this nasty place where everybody is amoral and is looking to get off hard and fast in this cynical, disaffected and disenfranchised world.

Like the England team, we could do with replacing the good old Poms with some good current South African posters.
Still waiting for the forum equivalent of Strauss and KP.....
