Sorry! Got the shits. I smoke and feel guilty about it. But I don't smoke in the house. GAE had been given me a bit of shit about it, only because she was pissed off about something else.

Meh, to each his own, mate. I don't think it'll stop wags posting the odd offensive pic though.
I was gonna start a thread the other day (a title knock-off thread) called "Can people get more demended than this" (a rip-off of a thread Vikas then Wally started) and post an image of a badly mutilated body. But I thought better off it, particularly given recent bombings in Baghdad.
It's all up to the individual to exercise a bit of decorum, i think.

Get this book:Bradman wrote:Tobacco is not funny skulls. It kills people. Do you really think a kid (photoshopped or not) smoking a cgarette is funny. I smoke them but I try to quarantine my kid from them.
A wanker like me smoking them is worthy of a you tube shot of my lungs. Someone sticking a cancer stick down his son's mouth comes close to murder.
I joke about booze and fogs (forgot I wasn't allowed to say that) but it's only with you guys.

I'd been smoking for 6 years and it helped me quit, helped my Dad quit who had been smoking for 30 years. If you don't want to quit at the moment then just read it anyway and it might help in future, if after you've read it you still decide that you want to carry on then that's all fine, but I would highly recommend this book. I know a few people that it has helped as well.
And no, this isn't the comedian, it's a different Allen Carr.

Re: Cricket is beered
My Dad died of chronic malaria. I have chronic malaria but i'm not going to die of it, thanks to modern medicine. I takes me chances and I'm not gonna bitch or sue when it comes to smoking or drinking.
I will however encourage my son not to take up one and use the other in moderation. If he doesn't that's his problem and if he ever sued I'd call him a softcock.

It's true that I only posted the kid smoking pic cos I thought it was funny, but I really don't think it harmed anyone. In fact, if anything, it got a bit of serious discussion on smoking going. Surely that's a good thing?
