The Forthcoming Pakistan v New Zealand series.

Post by DJ_Smerk on Tue 20 Oct 2009, 07:10

3 JAMODI's and 2 JAMIT20's.

It's meaningless/non-competitive tours like this which are hurting the very foundation of cricket, especially Test Cricket.

3 ODI's and Two Tests, would atleast cause some sort of debate and discussion. How much coverage is this series going to get on the forum?

I can answer that.....probably not a lot.

Gah.

I know.

However, they should play two tests in the UAE for preparation purposes and to add a further competitive edge to the return tests in NZ.

aces

Australia and New Zealand.

Mo Asif should have a field day on the seaming decks in New Zealand. The groundsmen should be smart and make them all spin decks (to aid Vettori and Patel). However, by doing so, it will give further assistance to Danish Kaneria. Unfortunately, either way it'll be a tough series for the Kiwis.

On the other hand, a quick pitch with Shane Bond bowling at 90mph combined with a shaky Pakistani batting order might even out proceedings.

Yeah with Asif, Aamer and Gul PAK should win 2 or 3 nil.

Ajmal and Afridi may be ahead of Kaneria but since PAK dont play much test cricket we don't know the right combo.

You'd be mad to leave Kaneria out of the starting XI for the first Test.

His form for Essex has been outstanding. If the pitch spins for Danish, he'll unstick even the stickiest New Zealand batsmen.

DJ, I know you're Welsh and might speak a differnt language and all, but on here, what is wrong with English? Why use that dreadful American made up by oh-so-clever journalist/reporter word upcoming, when the correct word is forthcoming or up and coming.
Sorry, but the American murder of our language winds me up more than Modi's murder of cricket.

Please stick to Welsh rather than American

Whatever makes you think that Bond will be able to remain fit for 3 tests?

Hopefully the pitch on the first test will be quick during the morning session.

there is a chance that Bond may be rested for ALL 3 tests

Bond or no Bond PAK should win the series quite comfortably.

the practice game starts tomorrow

The main difference between the 2 sides is M Yousuf, if he fails then NZ have a solid chance.
