This could end in tears - a wet-behind-the-ears captain in charge of a squad with some fairly combustible characters in it. All I can say is that Surrey must have made Hamilton-Brown an offer he couldn't refuse - one with plenty of zeros on the end.

Kabir Ali failed to report back to New Road last Monday for pre-season training - speculation is that a deal will be done to allow him to join the home for knackered Worcestershire bowlers - Hampshire
