Saw House of Tolerance last night followed by a Q&A with the director at the French Institute. Absolute sh1te. Should be retitled House of Boredom & Ennui.Reminiscent of one of the less well-regarded episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H expanded to 120 minutes and relocated to a fin de siecle Parisian house of ill repute. Don't be tempted by the trailers. If you want to see a film about prostitution go and see Emily Browning in Sleeping Beauty although that's pretty crepe but still tons better than this rubbishy derivative offering.

10 minutes into watching Submarine. Hmmm. Seems a bit French new wavey and classy. Impressed, Ayoade, impressed.

I heard it was good - not checked it out though.

Of course Richard Ayoade can do no wrong in my eyes after his portrayal of Thornton Reed in Dark Place.

I've never seen that. Heard it was good though.

Have you watched Kill List or Tyrannosaur as instructed on p49?

The Avengers was a light-hearted romp. Loved the Hulk pulvarising Loki with numerous held-by-the-feet body slams and muttering "puny God" as he stomped away. Laughing

phurt ...I thought the Avengers would be a film adaptation of the 60s Avengers series...

watched an old episode recently...in addition to the wonderful Diana Rigg, it had a young Charlotte Rampling complete with those eyes that one could drown in...I think the same episode also had a very young Donald Sutherland appearing

They did that a few years ago & it was a huge flop.
