Important News from the WACA

Post by embee on Mon 31 Aug 2009, 17:57

The Western Australian Cricket Association is pleased to announce Lion Nathan will become the official Beer Sponsor of the WACA for the next five years.

The Association will be flying the flag for the XXXX Gold brand at the WACA Ground and will also see the WACA and its affiliated Associations exclusively promoting the Lion Nathan beer portfolio.

Prior to 2001, the WACA had a long association with The Swan Brewery / Lion Nathan Australia, and looks forward to renewing a relationship that coincided with one of the most successful eras in Western Australian cricket’s history.

WACA Chief Executive Officer Graeme Wood says Lion Nathan’s commitment to Western Australian cricket will be appreciated by all that are involved in the sport in this state.

“The support of Lion Nathan is a tremendous boost for WA cricket and will be of great benefit across all levels from elite to grass roots,” Wood said.

“Lion Nathan is an organisation that takes an active role in the community and we look forward to forging a long and fruitful partnership with them.”

The deal comes into effect from 1 October 2009. The 2009-10 WACA District competition – the Retravision Shield – begins on the weekend of 3/4 October, while the Retravision Warriors’ interstate campaign commences with a Ford Ranger Cup game against the XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls at the WACA Ground on Sunday 11 October.

Lion Nathan are proud to promote their Beer portfolio to WACA Members, and also have a new cider product, Tooheys Extra Dry 5 Seeds Cider, which is included in the partnership. We will see the following products being served in the WACA Members Enclosure this season and beyond:

I have to be honest though, when I first saw this thread, I thought it would be about the WACA relaxing the rules to allow burning crosses inside the ground...

I'd feel guilty if he didn't play it up so much himself.
