Sage. I like listening to Naz, Athers, Mikey, The Fox, Beefy and Bumble.
They all suck equally!

This isn't about one country or another having better commentators. It's just that this Sky commentary team doesn't work.
Let's look at Channel 4 in 2005. They had:
Richie Benaud
Geoff Boycott
Mike Atherton
Michael Slater
Tony Greig
Mark Nicholas
and Simon Hughes as "The Analyst"
Obviously that team had Benaud. It had a good mix of accents. It had some commentators who were openly partisan (Boycott, Grieg and Slater). Boycott and Slats had a great-time needling each other throughout the series, but the fact they were openly cheering for one side was fine because they were continually fair with their analysis.
This year's Sky team are pretending to be neutral, but still look at everything from an English perspective.
Atherton is the only crossover from that commentary team and I still enjoy his insights. But even he's fallen in with the England-centric crowd now that no one is there to challenge him. Even Michael Holding is sounding like an Englishman (even though his accent is still distinctly Jamaican).
Finally, this Sky team are boring. Tony Greig and Mark Nicholas might be easy to ridicule, but at least they keeps things interesting. Bumble aside, this lot sound like they've taken a dose of valium.

Aye - especially when Beefy has to grit his teeth and admit his mob are getting flogged.

It's good hearing the pain in their voices today, and the struggle for them to see anything good in what England's done today. Smug gits...

Re: The Sky Commentary Team Thread
I know I should know this and I know it has been discussed on here before but can someone tell me what the old animosity was between Beefy and Nasser? They seem fine about each other now but they often pretend to not like each other. Was it just the negative commentary Nasser got from Beefy when he was captain or was there more to it than that? What was it all about?

Beefy doesn't like 'darkies'.
