Ferris, Midwinter, Murdoch, Trott, Woods. That's five.

Do we assume the Ashes started in 1882 and not 1877?

That would seem a very reasonable thing to assume.

I'm pretty sure Murdoch, Ferris and Trott didn't play against OZ and I thought Midwinter only played for Aust pre 1882.

That leaves Woods who I would guess didn't play against Aust but don't really know.

So, none of them?

Yep. No-one has played an Ashes test for both sides. Midwinter is the only player to play for Eng against Aus and vice versa but he didn't represent England in an Ashes test.
