BM and JKL, I am much relieved on the comm-box stakes.

Clark still on the comeback from injury. I won't be too worried if he doesn't get a lot of wickets, as long as he puts it in the right spot and doesn't leak runs like a soft dubber purdy boy.

Kin 'ell. Jimmy's wrecking them with 5-34 off 14 overs. Messed up.

Well, it seems that the recent Aussie tradition of mostly batting like the pitch is a minefield, only to watch the opposition come in and play like it's a featherbed will continue for a while longer.

Why Willis was saying its good to knock Hauritz all over the place I don't know. Surely if he gets twatted in this game they'll just not pick him...

Judging by our attack so far, England would be smart to produce some flat pitches to nullify anything our attack can offer. The mistake the Saffers made (and their players complained) was to produce bowler-friendly tracks which greatly aided Johnson. Lee was unlucky with an LBW and Clark bowled tightly but they didn't look threatening.

Of course somewhere along the line the poms need a win so they need to find a pitch which suits one of their quicks more than ours and juice it up. Looking at our attack though, I wonder about some of the complacent attitudes among members of our media.

Of course

I must say i'm impressed with Denly. I thought he'd be a bit of a Johnny no technique, but he looks pretty good.

Dear God, at least in the past 4 English Ashes series I could just scream at the Teev, "FFS, give Warnie a bowl" when things weren't going for us in the field. Erk, no such luxury anymore.

As Athers said on-air "welcome to the real world". No

At this stage of his career as is well known he's a bit of a 0 or 100 merchant, resulting in an ordinary looking 37 FC average. Has some talent - would probably be worth a shot in ODI's first.

As I said Skully, if they do it's hard to see where the penetration will come from. Interesting to see the juxtaposition of the two matches. The selectors' tone suggest disbelief that Hauritz got preferred to Krezja but the latter doesn't inspire confidence either. And then there's McGain. No

Just emphasises the gulf between the all time great Warne and the rest. [sigh]
