Of all the Aussies who have plied their trade in county cricket in the last ten years or so, Clarke's record is the least impressive. I don't think he averages much more than mid-30s.

Yep - looked a ropey one live.

Still don't know what to make of Bressie. Bowls at a good lick but doesn't look all that quick.

Got something about him - don't agree with Gus that he's a gashlord

He's got big shoulders and a big fast bowler's arse - seems to generate his pace from his action.

Wow, Hughes was thoroughly worked over by Harmison. Guess where England will be bowling to him all series.....

they'll need to work out a plan for Johnson as well or he'll kill us from number 8

Rashid has looked ordinary, albeit on a pitch offering nothing. Saj has once again opened his pie shop in england colours.

Rashid getting hammered now. FFS. Ashes chances all but over you would have thought barring a bagful in the second innings.

So, the options for Cardiff would appear to be:

1) two spinners, one of whom is Monty

2) four seamers, with the last place between Siders, Harmless and Liverand

Despite his apparent return to form, I still think we should keep Harmison up our sleeve. He doesn't deserve to play ahead of Onions.

It appears that way. We would deserve all we get for picking Monty though.

He was bowling gash before he was dropped and has continued to bowl gash....
