The England women's cricket team- An appreciation

Post by Henry on Sat 20 Jun 2009, 22:12

10 years ago, they were terrible, but now they are the current holders of the Ashes, the 50 over World Cup, and today they have a chance of winning the T20 World Cup as well. What an outstanding achievement. The England men's cricket team could only dream of being holders of the ashes AND World Cup champions at the same time. Fantastic stuff, and their achievements have been criminally under reported in the English media. Perhaps it's time the men's team learnt a few lessons from the women.

Good luck to the girls today.

Henry

Sorry if I in anyway am deingrating their sporting achievements - but I find being good at cricket massively attractive in a lady.

I'm pretty sure Trev is paraphrasing what's been said before. Nevertheless, well done the Women.

Amazing what happens when you have a captain that plays for Kent...

An English sporting team that actually won something? Front runners for team of the century one would think...

The Aussie commentator (who's name escapes me) said that this England side were taking the women's game to a new level.
