Retired Hurt . . . ouch!

In the light of Smith and Kallis' injuries at the crease today, let's use this thread to "celebrate," for want of a better word, some spectacular ouches.

Am I reading this link correctly? Are the West Indies responsible for hurting the most players?

I think so - 29 retired hurt "dismissals" for WI, excluding the now resumed Shah innings from the current match.

Unsurprisingly, almost half of them (14) occurred between 1970 and 1989...

Surprising nobody has had more than 3 retired hurts where they didn't resume their innings in a career. Guess the stats don't have any details of those who retired then came back out, or of the bowlers most responsible for the injuries (that would be interesting to see!)

seriously though, how the hell did we manage 10 retired hurts with our 'pace' bowling? and all of it between 1948 and 1998

And 6/10 are outside India, so the sooks won't be able to blame our weather or cuisine either.
