I knew what you meant. I hadn't realised that Javed was in this category. He really was a great batsman and very good to watch when in full flight. He was one of those who treated bowlers with disdain (as the cliche goes).

Checking on Cricinfo (not that i didn't believe you) i notice that Miandad and Sutcliffe both finished their careers with their average the lowest it had ever been. I wonder how many batsmen this applies to.
